None of the DAWs have flaws that trigger abandonment by me.I just cannot understand how on earth they are thinking? There's no logic behind this what so ever. Each DAW has its 'thing' that makes me happy, and makes me annoyed. I also use Logic Pro X, and Reaper often enough. I have, over time built several track templates, and over time they become refined to the point that I never visit the individual track naming again. Yeah, the naming convention I chose for labeling inputs uses an equal sign between the L and R parts of the odd/even pairs when I build the Friendly Names. What on earth were the Cakewalk designers thinking when programming like this? Everything is not stereo in this world. etc, and one is able to name each separately. In other DAW's like Cubase, Reaper, and so forth, the same audio interface shows up just perfectly with all the separate mono channel's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. This is quite frustrating as one doesn't use everything as stereo! Sometimes one use channels as mono, when connecting mono synths, or doing AUX sends, etc. You can only name each stereo pair after your liking, but it doesn't help much when you can't name every separate mono channel itself.

With other words the actual mono channel 1 and mono channel 2 is paired under "ASIO Fireface Analog 1", mono channels 3 and 4 paired under "ASIO Fireface Analog 3" and so forth.Īnd if one enable "Show Mono Outputs" then, inside the DAW when working, the channels will appear like this:Īnd there is no way on earth you can name them each.

In the audio settings, Cakewalk recognizes the audio interfaces (RME) input/output as stereo pairs!Ĭakewalk is pairing every 2 mono channels into 1 stereo channel, naming them as (this is what 8 mono channel looks like in Cakewalk): This is starting to get a huge irritation with Cakewalk.
